The Core Activities of Alhaj Zohirul Islam are as follows:

Zahirul Islam is a dedicated social worker. He himself founded and patronized the Dr. Mostafa Hazera Foundation. Through this organization, he is working tirelessly for the welfare of the needy, providing scholarships and educational materials to poor and talented students. He is also involved in multifaceted social service activities including providing computers, driving training and sewing machines for women for employment purposes, distributing blankets to the cold-stricken, providing humanitarian assistance to flood victims, providing free ambulances and free medical services, and distributing sports equipment and organizing upazila-wide football tournaments to keep the youth free from drugs and involve them in healthy entertainment and sports for physical exercise.

  • Provided scholarships to 21,000+ poor and meritorious students.

  • Provided free education assistance to street children and backward communities.

  • Assisted in mosque and temple-based primary religious and social education programs.

  • Provided technical, vocational and skill-enhancing education and training.

  • Provided information support and scholarship assistance to those interested in pursuing higher education abroad.

  • Organized scholarship examinations in Chatkhil and Sonaimuri upazilas every year for meritorious development and planned to launch meritorious scholarship programs across the entire Dhaka district from 2025.

  • Introduced parenting courses, modern curriculum and free education programs in 10+ schools and madrasas.

  • Exchanged views with head teachers and college principals on education development, leadership and curriculum.

  • School-based debate competitions and felicitated and awarded meritorious students.

  • Provided special assistance to poor but talented students for higher education in the country and abroad.

  • Launched the “Education to Build a Whole Person” program at the school-college level to build personality and character.

  • Planned to transform Sonaimuri-Chatkhil into a world-class education zone by declaring “Shikkha Nagori“.

  • Provided free medical services to over 3,62,000+ poor and helpless people.

  • Organizes Free Medical Camps (weekly) – over 35,000+ people received free treatment in May 2025 alone.

  • Provided assistance to 50,000+ families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Provided medical treatment and rehabilitation assistance to 500+ individuals injured in anti-discrimination movements.

  • Manages the ongoing “Taka Thousand Crore Health Project” – under which services like ambulance service for 1000+ patients, Smart Health App, free blood grouping, and mobile consultation are provided.

  • Provides wheelchair assistance for those who cannot walk.

  • Designed an international standard digital medical app (Sonaimuri-Chatkhil).

  • Planned a connection for online medical consultation with doctors from Singapore, Australia, and the UK.

  • In the future, it has taken initiatives to establish hospitals, technical health education institutions and health training centers.

  • Organizes Training and Job Fairs for the skill and professional development of the youth force.

  • Provided training and financing in fish farming, poultry farming, vegetable farming, and house construction for sustainable livelihood.

  • Provided alternative employment for poor, widowed, and destitute women and men.

  • Established a computer training center and provides regular training for youth skills.

  • Established sewing machine provision and training centers.

  • Established driving training centers.

  • Provided skill training and employment assistance to 10,000+ young men and women.

  • Ensured vocational training and employment for 20,000+ young men and women.

  • Established Technical Education Centers and Youth Training Centers.

  • Provides Digital Skill Training – Freelancing, Graphic Design, IT, and Entrepreneurship training.

  • Provides career guidance and mentorship (free of charge).

  • Launched a special 9-month foundation course for university Pathway preparation.

  • Created internship and job opportunities.

  • Provides IELTS and English Academy Priority Support at a nominal cost.

  • Provides legal and rehabilitation assistance.

  • Conducts awareness raising activities for women through yard meetings and social networking.

  • Conducts training, sewing education, and entrepreneurship development activities for women and young girls.

  • Establishes Women’s Welfare Club to develop social security, self-reliance, and leadership of women, and also increases family and social awareness by conducting regular Parenting Courses.

  • Provided honorarium to Imams and Muezzins and formed the Imam Welfare Association. 

  • Provides furniture, tree planting, and infrastructural support to educational institutions.

  • Conducted security establishment programs for minority communities.

  • Conducted rehabilitation and training programs for the disabled, transgenders, blacksmiths, potters, washermen, etc.

  • Worked to ensure education, treatment and social inclusion of the disabled.

  • Provides special training and inclusive support for children with disabilities.

  • Introduced senior citizen allowance for senior citizens aged 70+.

  • Provides humanitarian and financial assistance to Freedom Fighters.

  • Assists in the social development of non-Muslim and Hindu communities.

  • Introduced mosque-based Quran education for senior citizens.

  • Conducted social dialogue, expert lectures, and moral development programs.

  • Provided disaster relief to 20,000+ families.

  • Provided financial assistance to 35,000+ families.

  • Distributed tin and construction materials to 6,500+ families.

  • Distributed winter clothes and blankets, especially in cold and river areas.

  • Provided emergency food, medicine and financial assistance in floods, cyclones, epidemics and accidents – For example – in 2022, provided relief assistance to 5,000+ flood victims in Sylhet and played a significant role in post-flood rehabilitation.

  • Provided flood relief to 10,000+ flood victims in Comilla, Noakhali, Feni districts in 2024 – provided relief assistance to 10,000+ flood victims and played a significant role in post-flood rehabilitation.

  • Conducted awareness raising programs about natural disasters.

  • Took initiatives on emergency time (30 km) to renovate and repair roads: For example, took strong steps to renovate some important roads of Sonaimuri Upazila—(1) Sonaimuri-Deoti, (2) Sonaimuri-Karihati, (3) Sonaimuri-Muhuriganj and (4) Sonaimuri-Amishapara, (5) Chatkhil-Shahpur, (6) Chatkhil-Rezzakpur roads.

  • Built completely new houses for 45+ homeless families.

  • Conducted a 10 km+ road cleaning program in Sonaimuri-Chatkhil after August-5.

  • Conducts tree planting and greening activities in schools and colleges.

  • Plans rehabilitation for those affected by cyclones and natural disasters.

  • Works to ensure healthy sanitation and pure water in the rural environment.

  • Planted and distributed 10,000 trees (environmental development).

  • Introduced the “High Achiever Award” program to recognize high-quality youth in the country.

  • Established libraries for the development of students’ knowledge.

  • Promotes mental and physical excellence through sports and cultural competitions.

  • Provides counseling and parental training to prevent juvenile delinquency.

  • Conducts anti-drug awareness programs.

  • Forms social resistance against eve-teasing, theft, obscenity, etc.

  • Implements Parenting Programs to create aware guardians.

  • This is Alhaj Zahirul Islam’s most ambitious project.
